I draw.
I draw in two dimensions and three dimensions. That moment when a line in a sculpture flows or when the mark the pencil makes on the paper moves like a dance is an exquisite moment for me.
I aim to engage in an art practice that is environmentally considerate and cruelty free. I strive to use no animal ingredients with the exception of some found objects which are collected through natural malting and decay and some older recycled products.
Current Work; Little Peaces
As an artist I currently work with found objects, mostly organic and ephemeral. I create sculptures or totems marking a moment in time; often fleeting and transient. I document these "Little Peaces" through photography and drawing.
Why ?
When the pain, noise and demands of civilisation are pressing upon me I return to nature.
The more I return the more easily I breathe and the lighter I feel; relentless thoughts, pursuits and questions retreat. I no longer feel alone, confused or lost; I am part of the earth, the trees, the birds and all that surrounds me and I feel a moment of peace and content.
I bring back little pieces of these moments and sit with them again. I play and engage with nature once more and sometimes disappear into a space where nothing and everything exists; a place without question or separation between myself, nature, my making and the earth.
In these moments I no longer ask why, I just am.
